Lifestyle | What I've Been Watching Lately...

Hey everyone!

Okay, first of let me just say I feel like this is the first time I have ever done anything lifestyle related on my blog, lately all my posts have been either fashion, beauty or hair related, which I really want to change. Being a lifestyle blogger I feel that it is very important that I do so, so today I have come to you guys with a new post on the TV shows that I have been watching lately!

The #Westbrooks

My first TV show that I have been watching lately is this show called The #Westbrooks. It's a new reality TV show based on the instagram famous model India Love and her family. I love this show, everyone had been banging on about it at college so I thought I would check it out.. and great now I'm obsessed...literally I watched all 6 episodes in one day instead of doing my work. I love good, American, ratchet shows, you know with a little bit of drama and all that jazz!

Empire

Empire. Empire. Empire. Now I know I'm not the only one that has been watching this particular show. I love Empire, I think it's so funny and so interesting the way they link it to certain things that have happened in the world is so creative and unique. No doubt my favourite character is thee Mrs. Cookie Lyon. she gives me life she is so funny, has pure attitude and fierceness about her also everyone loves a bit of Cookie Lyon!

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

Every year I can't wait until there a new season to this show, I think no matter what celebrities they throw inside there there it is always so funny and some type of drama!
I don't think this year's I'm a Celebrity compares to last year because with the trio Jimmy, Jake and Foggy in there I was practically in fits of laughter, they were Hilarious!
But I must say Lady C has definitely rocked up the camp this year, giving us some TV gold.

Scandal

I love me some Scandal, although I don't think this current season has not lived up to my expectations and I've found this season a bit boring I can't seem to bring myself to stop watching. This show is about a team of people working to help people with the craziest and most drama filled problems and about a secret affair within the White House. Everyone enjoys a bit of White House drama!
My two favourite characters are Huck as weird as it may sound I absolutely just love him and First Lady, Mellie Grant, who doesn't love First Lady and her ways.

The Real

The Real is my shooow! It is honestly just the best, it puts me in such an uplifting happy mood and not to mention has me cracking laughter. I love watching this show in the mornings whilst I try get some work done on my days off, especially cause I'm not really into morning TV. This show is basically a daytime talk show, where they play games with people in the audience, chat about certain topics and talk to other celebrities. I love each of them, they are all so pretty and unique.

So these are the shows that I have been watching lately, I hope you guys like this post I've never really done a lifestyle post on my blog in a long time, so doing this post was nice.
Let me know if you want to see me do more lifestyle orientated post.
And what shows have you all been watching lately? are any of the shows you've been watching the same as mine? and are you addicted to any show right now? let me know in the comments below.

Lifestyle | Top 10 Handbag Essentials

Hiya everyone!

Today I have a new post for you and it's something that I've been meaning to do for quite some time. I'm going to share with you guys my Top 10 handbag essentials, items that are vital in every ladies's bag! so here goes...

Hand sanitizer | I think having hand sanitizer is a must especially if your anything like me that hates germs, like opening doors, holding onto bus poles, pressing bus stop buttons I can't I just feel like it's covered on dirt so having hand sanitizer is vital.

Hand cream | Having hand cream in your bag is so important because nobody likes having ashy hands especially in the winter and plus just because it says hand cream doesn't mean you cant put in on your elbows, ankles or other places that seem to magically go dry.

Tissue | I think that having a small packet of tissue in your bag is so convenient, especially during the winter when you underestimate how cold it is, get to the end of the road and realise your nose is running or when you rush into a toilet cubicle bursting to go toilet and realise there's no tissue you don't have to panic cause you have some of your own.

Sanitary Towels or Tampons | Be prepared in terms of that time of the month because who knows when the sucker might just creep up on you so having sanitary towels or tampons in your bag at all times is important because you can always protect yourself and save yourself the embarrassment.

Paracetamol | Should I even bother explaining why having paracetamol is an essential... Having paracetamol is like the solution to everything especially during that time of the month because it pretty much just brings you back on top when your not feeling so good which means you can get through the day.

Notebook and Pen | There has been so many times where I've been out and wished I had something to quickly jot down an idea or name and had to start looking for scraps of paper to write on so having a notebook and pen is so helpful.

Plasters | I think you should always have plasters in your bag because you never know when you might just have an accident and covering it with a plaster not only hides it and protects it it keeps it clean also plasters are good for putting the on the back of your shoes when they are small or rubbing.

Hair ties | You may not realise but having hair ties are so important especially during the summer when you just want to get your hair out your face and off your neck.

Compact mirror | I hate when I don't have a mirror on me cause it's like anything that you want to know about your face you have to ask and I hate asking or being asked do I have something on my face so having a compact mirror solves everything.

Vaseline, chapstick, lipgloss or lipstick | Having something for our lips is so lips cause nobody likes the sight of dry, crusty, cracked lips and I'm pretty sure you yourself don't like the feel of it so having something to put on your lips is vital especially during the winter when your lips are more prone to getting dry.

So this is my top 10 Handbag Essentials, don't forget to leave a comment and let me know which items you keep in your handbag? and what other items you think you may need to keep in your bag?
I hope you enjoyed this post.

Mac 'n' Cheese for lunch

Hello Everyone!

got a new exciting post for you guys I have been wanting to do this recipe for so long and now I have finally got it done.
I'm going to try and do a lot more food posts on my blog just because I really enjoyed doing it and it kind of breaks it down from all the beauty and fashion.

Today I'm going to show you how I make my 'Mac 'n' Cheese' recipe for lunch, and I know everyone has different ways of making it but I am going to show you how I make mine.
so let's go....

Ingredients:

Pasta | Of course when it comes to pasta you can use any type, I know with mac and cheese you are supposed to use Macaroni but I prefer to use fusilli pasta just because I find it easier to get rid of the water when I drain it but to me I don't think it taste any different or makes a difference. I used a whole packet of 500g.

Butter | depending on how much your making you will need butter I used around 2-3 big serving spoons and I made for 7 people.

Flour | you don't need a lot of flour I used 3-4 table spoons and with the flour if it's not the right consistency you can easily add more. ensure that before you add the flour it is plain flour and not self raising flour.

Milk | I think having a lot of milk is vital especially if you are not to familiar with making this dish just because you don't want the cheese sauce to be extremely thick because this will result in a very dry mac n cheese which we don't want.

Cheese | Obviously you're going to need cheese to make the dish so I used mature cheddar because it means that the dish will be really cheesy and I won't have to use so much cheese, depending on your own personal preference you can decide how much you put this will mean after you've added the cheese you may need to taste it.

Firstly, you will start off by putting your pasta on to boil this will give you time to make your cheese sauce.

To make the cheese sauce you will need to start off by adding butter to a hot pot, mix the butter around using a wooden spoon until it is all melted.

Once all the butter it melted you will need to add your plain flour mix this up until all the butter is dried up and the mixture is solid, somewhat like a play doh texture.

After you will need to add your milk to the butter and flour mixture, using the back of the wooden spoon you will need to squash and mix the mixture until it is smooth and it has all dissolved into a liquid mixture.

After that I decided to add my seasoning's, I added 4 maggi cubes (if you know you just know.... LOL!) this gives it so much more flavour and obviously the less you are making the less cubes you will need to use. I also added a small amount of mixed herbs I'm not that big of a fan of mixed herbs but it does give it a different taste so I always try to add a small amount. You can use whatever seasoning you want it just depends on your personal preference.

After you've added all your seasonings, you will need to mix it up, . so at this stage the sauce should be the right consistency but since we haven't added our cheese yet you may need to add more milk so it is smooth and not too thick.

With the sauce at a watery consistency it is now time to add your cheese, try to add your cheese bit by bit so it doesn't take super long to melt and you don't make it taste too strong, so taste it after you add a bit of cheese.

Once you've finished making the cheese sauce check your pasta as it should be done by now.

A lot of the water must be gone but if there is still water in it like mine simply drain it.

After both the cheese sauce and pasta are ready I poured the cheese into the pasta, word of advice is to pour the food into whatever pot is bigger, for example if you used a bigger pot for the cheese sauce pour the pasta into the cheese sauce this will just make it easier to mix it up.

Now for the best bit mix it all up, just keep on mixing it until you think all the pasta is mixed in perfectly.
Then your done!

I hope you like this post and it was helpful to any of those that want to give it a try

How I balance out college and blogging

Hey everyone,

I've got a different type of post for you guys today, today I'm going to tell you how I balance  out college and blogging and some tips on how you can do so too.

Now that I have started college I only have to go in three times a week, so that means I'm able to create a routine where Monday, Wednesday and Friday are the days I go to college and are focused on school work. then Tuesday, Thursday and the weekends are the days that I can use to work on my blog.

Having only three days to complete school work can be hard especially if you have more than one or have plenty of course work, but you have to remember to keep calm, not stress and stay focused, also you have to concentrate, so close the Twitter tab, the Blogger tab, the YouTube tab and all that other unnecessary tabs that have nothing to do with your school work, don't get side tracked just think about the time you'll have later to do what you want.

Some of the tips for you guys are:

  • Create a routine/timetable
  • Write and schedule as many posts as possible on your days off and on the weekends
  • Do homework early and as quickly as possible so you have more time to chill and join the chats on twitter (#fbloggers, #bbloggers, #fblchat)
  • Make note of new post ideas you come up with during the week, so you have something to blog about on your days off
  • Spread out post evenly through the week

I hope these tips helped and gave you a bit of advice on how to balance school and blogging, give it a try and tell me what you think!

Family camping trip | Day 3

I'm back guys with my slowly hating it camping trip,
if you've been up to date with my blog and what's going on you would know that I went camping with my family if you haven't I would highly advise you to check out Day 1 then Day 2 so you are all up to date.

So In my last post I mentioned that it rained really bad and are tent was soaked and that so are plan was to put up the three man tent inside the six man tent, When I woke up that morning it was still raining but just lightly and I honestly thought I was at deaths door my whole entire body was in soo much pain I seriously felt like crying like 'NOO I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS ANYMOORE!!!' but no I couldn't do that I had to stick it out/hold it together, because we decided to take the short cut and put the smaller tent inside the bigger tent we completely set ourselves up to suffocate because literally there was no air flowing through the tent so it was stifling hot.

Based on the fact that Tuesday was our last day we planned on going out for a fun activity so what better place to spend some quality time with the family than to go BOWLING!
Unfortunately not everyone could bowl as there is a age restriction so my little 6 year old sister and 2 year old cousin had to sit this one out, but don't worry they still had fun running around the little dance floor with all the different coloured changing lights playing with each other.

We bowled for an hour and had soo much fun, of course I won, well came joint first with mummy dearest (power of the A's! *wink wink*)
Camping was great, like it felt good to be able to kind of leave the camp-site and do something normal and something that didn't require so much hard grafting first and I think everyone needed that kind of peacefulness.

Heading back to the camp-site everyone was pretty tired and hungry so to celebrate our last day we decided we would have a barbecue, we had skewers, chicken wings, corn on the cob, sausages and spare ribs and to top it off for dessert we had a delicious cream sponge cake, in my opinion I think this was definitely the best evening we had, every was in a really good mood.

Before bed we decided that we would all sit around the camp fire and just chill and talk about everything and anything, at one point we even started playing Chinese whispers, which was hilarious because I have a few people in my family that just can't whisper. At all!

After the pain and discomfort that I went through last night I quickly decided that I would sneak into my brothers tent cause I seriously couldn't do another night like the last. Sleeping in a tent with my brothers was actually quite fun we spent the night talking, laughing and even screaming at one point when we thought we "heard something".

The next morning I woke up like 5 and got in the car I fell back to sleep and slept till 8 when everyone was pretty much awake and ready to go, camping was officially over and I couldn't wait to get back home. Sleeping in a tent with my brothers was the best nights sleep I had had this whole camping trip and I really regret not sleeping there in the first place but all in all it was a great trip and I had so much fun!

This was my amazing 3 day family camping trip, so happy I could share it with you guys.
If you haven't realised yet I've changed up my blogging schedule so now I post every other day so my next post will be up on Thursday so look out for that.

Family camping trip | Day 2

Hey guys,

I'm back with day 2 of my family camping trip if you haven't checked out my day 1 you can check it out here.
Monday morning was horrible, waking up in the morning I honestly started to re-think whether I could last this camping trip one because my back was killing, two my neck was aching, I was cold and to top it off all the top of our tent was wet from the rain. Bad weather can seriously put a person off camping forever!

Monday was spent praying and hoping that we would get some good weather but unfortunately that did not happen as it rained all day literally all day...
For breakfast that morning we had some bacon, egg and a piece of loafed bread and a nice hot cup of herbal berry tea, the amount of time it took us to cook it made me really appreciate it more even though it didn't fill me up at all I definitely savoured every piece. LOL!

After breakfast we spent all of our day playing games like monopoly, concentration and even the infamous twister because are original plans to go out were sabotaged by the horrid weather, and if you have ever played monopoly before you would know that it's a very long game and goes on for hours and hours...

After lunch which was a tasty bowl of noodles everyone was really relaxed and pretty much chilled out on their quickly dying devices, luckily we had WiFi so that kept us pretty entertained.

As evening quickly approached we began to cook our dinner and sort out the terrible tent situation of it being wet... :(
Our solution was to put up the three man tent inside the six man tent because lazy us were not really looking forward to taking it down, this then meant we had 7 people inside a three man tent crazy right? so all I had to look forward to is an even more uncomfortable nights sleep.

This was day 2 of my camping trip I hope you enjoyed it and look out for the last day of my family camping trip

Family camping trip | Day 1

Hey everyone,

I'm finally back! A couple of days ago I went on a camping trip for 3 nights and I was just so excited and could not wait to tell you all about it.

Sunday afternoon me and my family went down to Hertfordshire to a camping site for a couple of days, with all 10 of us we decided to put up a six man tent and a three man tent.
Putting up the three man tent was a breeze it took us about 45 minutes to an hour with us all pitching in and helping, but the six man tent...WOW! it took us hours, literally you could see it getting darker and darker outside as we struggled to put it up.

After we finally managed to put the tent up everyone felt pretty drained and tired so our aim was to chill and hurry and get to bed.

We had some dinner, got our fire going and sat around roasting marshmallows and telling camp fire stories, moments like these I absolutely love just seeing everyone so happy all together is amazing!

The first night sleeping in the tent was ok until it started to rain, as it got heavier through the night waking up the next morning was terrible as all mine and my sisters side of the tent was slightly wet.

So this was my eventful day 1 of camping with my family, look out for day 2 which should be out pretty soon

Yummy Smoothie Recipe!

Hiyaaa everybody!

Today I'm going to share with you a little recipe that I really enjoy and tend to do a lot during the hot summer, in my eyes this is also a good way to use up and just get rid of fruit that I don't really want to eat and are just going bad.
so this is my delicious smoothie drink recipe!

For my ingredients I grabbed...
3 bananas
2 apples
1 pineapple
3 oranges
milk
and ice cream
you can use any fruit you want for example, if you wanted to use berries you can I just used what fruit I had and was looking to use up

What I do after washing all my fruit is I cut them up
into my blender, add a little bit of milk just to help make
it blend better and make it more smooth and less lumpy.

Then on to my favourite bit, blend away!
Blend until all solid fruit has pretty much been dissolved, beware to not blend it too much at first because next were going to add the ice cream and we don't want it to be too watery.

After your smoothie is all blended up your going to add your ice cream, you can add as much ice cream as you want for this recipe I added around 6 to 7 large tablespoons.
Blend it up a little more just to mix in the ice cream and then your done
a yummy, quick and easy smoothie recipe!

I hope you enjoy your yummy beverage!

My next post which may be up a bit earlier than Thursday because I'm going to try post two times a week, which I know will be a challenge but I'm going to try my best.
So stay tuned!

Prom Preparation | Dress, Shoes & Clutch

Hey everyone,

Yes as you can figure from the title it's that time of the year again for school leavers, I'm not really sure if any other year group have prom but I have soo much to do before this special day.

Dress

For my dress, my sister (that some of you may know as FashionSquash) volunteered to make it for me which I was extremely happy about because finding a dress that would look exactly the way I wanted it was bound to be difficult.
Deciding on how and what I wanted my dress to look like took close to a month, cause to me it was all about getting it PERFEECCCT!

So I got on to Pinterest, (my love!) and created a secret board and named it 'Prom ideas', I gathered up a whole lot of ideas for what I wanted to look like at prom (this board is now unlocked, opened whatever you want to call it so you can check it out here) and this helped me to get inspiration on what I wanted my dress to look like.

I decided on a short dress because I'm quite short any ways so a long dress would just make me look like I've been stumped into the ground. LOL! I also decided on a non stretchy material don't really know why but the fabric I used was called a Satin Duchesse and it was relatively cheap I think it was £4.80 per metre and I think I got 4 or 5 metres which ended up being way more than I needed.

It took us like a week and a half to complete the dress just because my sister was quite busy in between that with completing her final collection and other stuff but I think if she just got it over and done with and didn't start and stop for days it could have been done in 3 to 5 days.

Shoes

Finding shoes was so difficult because all they have out now are strappy, heeled sandals and I wanted some platform, bright coloured heels which I just couldn't find. Coming up towards prom as time was getting shorter I still had no shoes, no clutch and an ufinished master piece.

So I think it was like a week before prom and me and my sister went Oxford Street to see what we could find and to my surprise I had no luck, however I did manage to purchase a pair of earrings for prom.

Then I had my aunty over and she suggested that I go on to eBay, at first my initial thought was 'eurgh I don't want no cheap rubbish where the heel just gone snap off as soon as I try bruk it down' but as time was running out and I was going to have to wait for delivery, I got on to eBay and what do you know I found a pair of heels that I loved! Ordering them was quite risky because they said they would come a day before prom which I was quite worried about just in case they got here and didn't fit or weren't to my expectations.

I got the heels in a size 5 and a half and they cost £15.99 which I thought was pretty good.
Check them out here!

Clutch

Going shopping with my sister to Oxford Street I also tried to hunt down a clutch I already knew that I wanted a sparkly/glittery box clutch which was kind of stressing me out because I could not find one anywhere where I thought it was worth it, price wise.

Again, aunty to the rescue she told me how she saw a really nice box clutch on TK Maxx and because me, my aunty and my sister all have the same fashion sense I could tell that I was going to love it. The clutch cost £14.99 and had a delivery price of £3.99 which I thought was a little pricey but in my desperation I just bought it especially because I didn't have time to waste.
Check out TK Maxx for the Satin Box Clutch

Stay tuned for my next post 'Get ready with me....Prom night!' that should be up next Thursday, I'm going to try and put up a new post every Thursday I can't promise anything but I will try my best!
